1. Highlights of my childhood background and a call for gospel ministry.

I was born on 11 January 1956 and attended school until grade 7 at my birth place in a remote rural area in Ethiopia. In 1971, I was promoted to grade 8. However, as I was the only child for my parents they did not want me to leave them to go to school somewhere else. Their wish for me was to get married and stay with them and help them in their farming activities. I was therefore left with no other option but to discontinue my education. Immediately after, at the age of 14 years, I was employed as a teacher in a small private elementary school and worked there for four years. In the mean time I was preparing myself for the National Examination for grade 8. I sat for and passed the examination and was promoted to grade 9. I attended my secondary school education from 1976-1979. In 1980 I joined the Ambo Agricultural College and graduated two years later with a diploma in general agriculture. I then worked as a government employee from 1982-85. All this time I had a very deep interest to continue with higher education and with the help of the Lord, I won a government scholarship in 1987 and enrolled in the Ukraine State University of Agriculture in the Republic of Ukraine of the former USSR , to study veterinary medicine In 1993 I was awarded a degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine.

2. I Heard the Voice of the Lord for the First Time and Started Preaching the Gospel

It was on 19 June 1993 , while I was following my studies in Ukraine and preaching the Gospel at the same time that the Lord spoke to me saying that He wanted me to serve Him full-time. Before proceeding with this call, however, I would lime to say a few things about my childhood.In 1967, I was 11 years old and attended grade 3. Until this time, I certainly was not the brightest boy in the class. In fact, I was invariably the bottom of the class. This was very worrying to me and I tried to seek advice on how to improve my intellectual capacity. To my surprise someone advised me to try smoking cigarettes, which according to this person, was an effective remedy for intellectual weakness. Give the desperate situation I was in, I did not want to miss the chance. So one bright morning, hiding from my parents I lighted a cigarette and started smoking while reading (well, trying to read) a book. I was expecting a miracle but nothing doing. As usual, I simply was reading without understanding a thing. Despair took over my whole body, total despair and desperation reigned in my soul and body. Suddenly a strange idea struck me - an idea to raise my hands upwards and pray to God to open my mind and enable me to read and comprehend what I was reading. I immediately made an earnest mental prayer to God. Instantly, a great power in the form of intense light fell on me and the cigarette fell from my mouth and the book from my hand. I was unconscious for a few minutes. My soul was filled with joy and I started pouring out praises to my Lord, singing hymns and worshipping Almighty God.A few minutes later, I started reading the boom again and for the first time ever I could understand what I was reading and was following my lessons without the slightest problem. Since that day, before starting to study my lessons, I in variably read a few verses from the Word of God and remained in a prayer spirit for at least twenty minutes. Ever since, throughout my school from grade 3 years through 12 I always stood top of my class and during my college and university education I always passed my examinations with distinction.That miraculous power of light had completely changed my mind and my entire outlook. Since I experienced that power of light I could not separate myself from the Word of God. The Holy Spirit created in me a passion for Gospel ministry. I started to give honor for the Work of God; I was totally filled by the Holy Spirit and burned internally with the desire to serve the Lord.

3. The Start of My Preaching Ministry

On a certain Sunday morning, in 1970, three years after the incident of the power of light, I was walking with my father to a near by church. At the time I was 14 years old. While we were walking, I suddenly felt a strong urge to preach the Gospel and wished I had the opportunity. Immediately I heard a voice from inside me saying, "Yes, you will have the opportunity!” This was my first time to experience the voice of the Holy Spirit. I was filled with joy unspeakable and was continuously praising the Lord as we walked along with my father. Finally, we reached the church before the program started and took our seats. We waited for several minutes but the program would not start. Apparently the preacher assigned for the day failed to show up. The elders were discussing among themselves what was to be done. They were not aware of the fact that the lord had already provided them with a brand new preacher for that day! To my big surprise, and to the surprise of my father, one of the elders approached me and requested me to preach the Word and pray. I did. The Holy Spirit was on me and the congregation was greatly blessed. At the end of the program the elders requested me to preach the following Sunday too! I agreed and the Lord started doing miracles. Other churches in the area heard about my services and started to invite me to preach the Gospel. I continued my Gospel ministry in the area until 1978.

"You have taught me ever since I was young, and I still tell of your wonderful acts. Now that I am old and my hair is gray, Do not abandon me, O God!" Ps. 71:17-18

4. A Call for a Full-time Gospel Ministry

In 1992, while I was in my final year at the Ukraine State University of Agriculture and was also serving the God, the Lord was revealing to me the plans he had for me. During the first five months of that year, the Lord was saying to me, "I want to sue you for my purpose; I will show you my way; my light will shine upon you. That is all I want to tell you"On 13 January 1993, the Lord said to me, "I will use you for my purpose; I will guide you by my spirit, ad you shall establish my church"On 19 June 1993 around eight o'clock in the evening, I was in my room and I was in the Spirit and the Lord was speaking to me. The Lord told me to stand up. I stood up. He told me to put my hand on my head, but when I tried to put my right hand on my head it was very heavy. I felt as if I was putting something very heavy on my head. I was suddenly overwhelmed by a power. I staggered and fell down. I remained unconscious for a few minutes. The Lord then told me to stand up. I got up and stood on my feet. The Lord was showing me a vision. I closed my eyes and was looking at the vision. In this vision I first saw darkness then a luminous light, and then fire. And the Lord said to me, "This Darkness that you see is the work of the Devil that has overwhelmed my people. I am bringing you from this darkness to this wonderful light and have sanctified you as my own child. I have called you to free my people from the darkness and bring them to my glorious light"I then asked the Lord what this wonderful light signified, and the Lord said to me, "This light that you see is me. It is me who have revealed myself to you in truth and who made you live in accordance with my Word". Then I saw the darkness being swallowed by the light. The fire that you saw was my spirit. It is me who filled you with my Spirit and kindled your heart with passion for Gospel ministry. I will increase the fire of my Spirit in you and my anointing shall be multiplied on you; I will sanctify my people through this fire of my Spirit and lead them to the truth. I shall execute my wondrous acts through you. Through this fire of my spirit I shall use your hand to do wonders and miracles". After the vision was over, the Lore told me to read Revelation s1:2.

Truth revealed by Jesus Christ. Happy is the one who reads
This book, and happy are those who listen to the words
Of this prophetic message and obey what is written in
This book! For the time is near when all things will happen". Rev.1-2

After instructing me to preach this Word of prophecy to all people the Lord said to me,” I shall make use of your life, you will obtain your degree but you will put it aside and you shall serve me. I will be your life's lot and you’re all in all. If you resist, the sword will devour you, for I am God! Be not afraid, and do not worry about your life. It is me who called you for good living and to serve me full-time. As soon as you return to your country ( Ethiopia ) I will give you a team of Evangelists and you will preach the Gospel in several places and wonders and miracles will accompany your ministry. All these will come to pass after your period of preparation is compel. "Once a message came quietly, so quietly I could hardly hear it" Job 4:12

5. Return to My Native Country - Ethiopia

You told me to go back to my land and to my relatives, and you make everything to well for me. I am not worth all the kindness and faithfulness that you have shown me, your servant. I crossed the Jordan with nothing but walking-stick, and now I have come back with these two groups” Gen. 32:9-10When I left for Ukraine initially to do my higher studies, I had no plans to return to Ethiopia. As a result, in1990, I sent a letter of invitation to my fiancée at the time, and my present wife, Adanech Abashu, to help her obtain an entry visa into the Ukraine Republic to join me there.One day during this period of time, as I was praying, the Holy Spirit prompted me to the following passage from the Scripture:

"You are placed under a curse and can no longer farm the soil.

It has soaked up your brother's blood as if it had opened its
mouth to receive it when you killed him. If you try to grow
Crops, the soil will not produce anything; you will be a homeless
Wanderer on earth " Gen. 4: 11-12

And the lord said to me, “My son, listen to me! To run away from the place where one is born and brought up is the result of a curse and sin. If neither curse nor sin had not reined in a country its citizens would no have had to leave their place of birth to live in a foreign land. Therefore, if you go anywhere against my will, the fertile land will turn into wilderness; but if you go to a wilderness in accordance with my will, that place would turn into a fertile land".The Holy Spirit then prompted me to read the following passage from the Bible:

"Then lie down on your left side and I will place on you the guilt
of the nation of Israel for 360 days. You still stay there and suffer
because of their guilt. I have sentenced you to one day for each
Year their punishment will last. When you finish that, turn over
On your right side and suffer for the guilt of Judah for forty days
-one day for each year of their punishment " Ezekiel 4:4-7

Then the Lord said to me, "I will take you back to your country (Ethiopia) and you will serve me there; you will remain on your knees praying before me for the sins and transgressions of your people; you will reveal to your people their sins; with a team of evangelists that I will raise for you, you will be my spokesman. You will plant my church, and will go out into the world. All this will take place after the completion of the 6-year period of preparation time”. And I said, "Amen, Lord, let Thy will be done". Immediately, I spoke to my fiancée in Ethiopia on the telephone and told her everything that God had told me, and she too said, "Amen". On 21 January 1994 , in full obedience to the instructions given to me by the Lord, I returned to my country, Ethiopia.

6. An Overview of My Ministry from 21 January 1994 to 7 June 1999.

This period corresponds to the above mentioned 6-year of preparation time and is divided into the following three parts:

  • My marriage
  • A time of Spiritual growth, a time I saw the Lord Jesus Christ in a Vision and a time when I lived in different parts of Addis Ababa under the guidance of the Holy Spirit.
  • The times I experienced life in the wilderness and spent 80% of my time at home with the Word of God and the Holy Spirit.

7. My Marriage

When I arrive in Ethiopia , my plan was to get marred and have a family. God had a purpose for my life and He arranged for me to get marred on 28 May1994 to a girl, Adanech Abashu, who has been my fiancée for sixteen years. We first came to know each other with Adanech while she was in grade nine and I in grade ten. We were engaged in 1978. My wife accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, not because someone witnessed the Lord Jesus Christ to her but because the Lord revealed Himself to her and asked her to start going to church. The fire of the Holy Spirit was burning hot within her and she became not only a founding member of the Nefas Silk Mekane Yesus Church , but until 1997 when we founded Vision International Gospel Ministry, she was also serving, free of charge, as treasurer of that church. Adanech graduated from a Vocational and Technical School in Addis Ababa with a Diploma in Accounting and is now a government employee as a senior accountant. Adanech has played a very important role in the establishment and success of our Ministry. She is a woman endowed with a great faith and the gift of prayer. Her gift of discerning of authority on has been a strong support to my ministry. During her spare time Adanech actively participates in all ministerial activities. During our five-year period of our marriage, the Lord has graciously blessed us with three baby girls.

8. My Growth in the Gifts of the Spirit and Expansion of the Gospel Ministry

This period extends from the time I started my services at the Nifas Silk Mekane Yesus Church , 19 July 1994 to when the Lord relieved me from my responsibilities at that church, 16 September 1997. The Lord then spoke to me saying that the He will now assign me to a higher and wider area of responsibility. In Ethiopia, there are several Christian denominations and while I was getting ready to return to Ethiopia, my main concern and prayer was for the Lord to show me which of these churches He wants me to join. I asked the Lord for help and He said to, "I will tell you which church you will join when you get back home". I then asked the Lord to lead me to a church of His choice only, and that I am not asking a church having any special qualities - a small church, a big church, a church with large congregation or with a small congregation, with or without manifestation of the Spirit - but only a church of His choice! I returned to Ethiopia on 26 January 1994 and about a week later, while I was fasting and praying, the Lord told me to go to a newly established church, namely, Nifas Silk Mekane Yesus Church and I started worshipping in that church. The Lord had earlier told me not to minister until 6 months were over and I did not. Apart from people to whom the Lord revealed my gifts of the Spirit no one else knew about me at all. God's formula for scheduling and timing is very amazing. On 3 September 1993 , while I was still in Ukraine studying for my degree and also serving the Lord, He spoke to me saying "I have a new thing for you; I will give you peace and rest. No doubt this 6 - month’s period of rest extended from the time immediately after my final examination to the time of my marriage. God indeed has conveniently prepared for me a time of peace and rest. 6 months after my return from Ukraine , to the date, I was requested to conduct a healing program. I accepted the invitation and ministered. The Lord abundantly manifested His power among the people. From that day onwards the Lord opened a wide door for my Gospel Ministry, and with the help of God I continued to serve my Lord with all my strength, with all my knowledge with all my time and resources. I served the Lord with various gifts of anointing- the gift of prophecy, the gift of healing, preaching, counseling and other gifts, such as helping and encouraging others to bring to light their gifts of the Spirit and to use their anointing power for His glory in collaboration with other servants of the Lord. We served our Lord faithfully and honestly and He poured out strong Spirit of worship on the church. As a result, several people accepted the Lord as their personal Savior. A strong Spiritual revival prevailed in the church. Many others were delivered from both Spiritual and physical illnesses.

The curses of the people were broken by the Lord and they started to lead peaceful and successful lives. On 31 July 1997 the Lord spoke to me saying 'A prophet may live the life of a prophet" and accordingly I served the church, free of charge, and the Lord had carried me through supporting me with His hands.

"I myself have stirred Cyrus to action to fulfill my purpose and put
things right. I will rebuild my city, Jerusalem , and set my captive
People free. No one has hired him or bribed him to do this" Isa. 45:13

Although my major responsibility was ministering to the Nifas Silk Mekane Yesus church, I was also being invited by various other churches and was serving churches and Gospel ministries that the Holy Spirit prompted me to, without making any distinctions among the various Christian denominations.

9. My Plans to Go to Australia for Higher Studies Aborted.

During the final stage of my studies at the Ukraine State University of Agriculture, I had started corresponding with higher research institutions in Queensland University in Australia. I had also sent to them my technical research proposal along with recommendation letters from three of my professors. My plan was to go to Australia after two years of Gospel ministry in Ethiopia , work there for a few years and then return to my country. My intention of going to Australia was not so much to carry out advanced agricultural research; rather it was to enroll in a Theological Seminary to get myself ready for the Gospel Ministry the Lord has instructed me to start after the six years of preparation. I then received a letter from Australia advising me to report to Queensland University to start my research work. I was also informed to start processing my entry visa to Australia through the Australian Embassy in Nairobi , Kenya as well as attending to all other formalities. I continued processing my departure for Australia and booked my flight for16 February 1996. On 7January 1996, at 7:30 in the evening, the Lord was revealed to me "Those that obey the Lord will learn from Him the path they Should follow” Ps 25:12

10. 6th January 1996, 45 minutes with the Lord Jesus Christ.

It was the most wonderful night in my life. The Lord took me by the hand and showed me around. On 26 September 1992 while I was following my higher studies in Ukraine State University of agriculture, the Lord spoke to me thus: "I will make use of you; you will preach my Word and one day I will reveal myself to you". It was 6 January 1996.at 1.30 in the morning I was in bed when I was suddenly filled with special peace and joy. I woke up from my sleep and opened my eyes and I saw the Lord Jesus walking towards me. I find it very difficult to express in words the peace and joy that filled my soul when I beheld His eyes filled with tender love. I have never ever experienced such joy. The lord told me to get up and I got up. We started walking side by side. I am not yet sure whether I was walking with Him physically or spiritually. He took me to the edge of a pit which was covered with total darkness. I was frightened and the Lord who was beside me and who was aware of my fear held my hand tenderly and the fear left me immediately. As He was holding my hand an extremely intense light emanated from the Lord and the darkness was swallowed by light, and I could clearly see the width and depth of the pit. Looking down into the depth of the dark pit I felt as if I was looking down to earth from a plane high in the sky. The Lord then said to me. "Apart from me no one can come anywhere near this pit and I shall now take you there and show you around". The Lord still holding my hand, we started moving to the bottom of the pit at a very fast speed. When we reached the bottom of the pit I saw evil spirits standing at intervals of about two steps between them. The light was still emanating from the Lord and everything around was visible very clearly. Because of the intense light the evil spirits could not look in our direction and they were standing stupefied. As we walked around the camp of the evil spirits, they were drying up one after another, and by the time we completed our visit around the camp all of them had dried up completely. The Lord then said to me, “these are the evil spirits which work against the blessings of the earth, of my people and your own blessings. When you worship me or pray to me or when I show you the presence of these evil spirits in some area, you only have to order them to dry up and I shall make them dried up". Ever since, whenever I am confronted with a challenge from the evil spirits during my ministry I command them in the name and authority of the Lord Jesus to dry up. If they resist the command, I raise up my right hand to my heavenly father and say, "On the basis of the promise to dry up evil spirits when I command them to dry up I hereby command these evil spirits to dry up", and I see them disappearing from the area. When we completed our visit to the pit, the Lord took me back to my bedroom and sitting beside me, He said," I will send you to foreign lands at my own time to carry out Gospel Ministry. I will send you to Australia neither for higher education nor for Gospel ministry". He then told me in detail what I should do in the future and then told me to read the following passage from the Bible and left me.

"The land has produced its harvest; God, our God, has blessed us.
God has blessed us; may all people everywhere honor Him" Ps. 67:6-7

And I read it. I then wrote down everything I saw and beard. The following morning I told my wife and my close associates that I will never set my feet on Australian soil and that I have cancelled the flight that I had booked earlier.

11. Establishment of Vision International Gospel Fellowship

This period covers the time between 16September 1997 and 16 February 1999 , i.e. 17 months. During this time I had stopped most of my activities with other churches and I spent about 80% of my time at home studying the Bible and receiving guidance and instructions from the Holy Spirit. In addition, I was experiencing life in the wilderness. The highlights of my activities during this period were:

  • Studying the Bible
  • Receiving guidance and instructions from the Lord for my future ministry while fasting and praying before Him
  • Establishing and ministering to Vision International Gospel Fellowship
  • Ministering and praying for individuals who came from the four corners of the city after hearing about the wonders and miracles God was performing through my ministry
  • Curses of several servants of the Lord were being broken
  • The war declared on me by the devil to misdirect me was aborted by the power of the Holy Spirit and I was firmly established
  • The Lord had abundantly blessed me spiritually but gave me a good exposure to the life in the wilderness by depriving me of material gains and at the same time making a good use of my life.

One unusual thing that happened during this time was that some of the people I served used to leave some money in my hands as they left. This was the first time that Birr 60 was given to me from People I served. As I sat wondering at what was happening a young lady came over and asked me to pray for her. I told her to kneel down. She knelt and started to cry. As I tried to lay my hand on her to pray the Lord told me to stop it. I stopped. The Lord then told me to look at her feet. I looked and saw that her shoes were old and tattered, and I asked the Lord why she was crying. The Lord told me that she was crying because she did not have shoes. I asked the Lord whether I should pray that she would have a pair of shoes. He then told me that she needed a pair of shoes and not prayer! so I asked the Lord what I should do and he told me to buy her a pair of shoes. I told the Lord that I do not have the money. He told me that I had Birr 60 in my pocket. I told the young lady to get up and gave her the Birr 60 and she left. This lady is now an honest servant in the house of the Lord. As mentioned earlier, on 16September 1997, while I was conducting a healing ministry at Nifas Silk Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus the Lord said to me,

"You have been faithfully serving me in this church. Starting from this day,
I have relieved you of the burden I laid on you for this church. Now I will
Take you to a higher and wider area of my service"

On 29 September 1997 , I and two other persons started to fast and kneel before the Lord in a house near the Central Hotel in the eastern part of Addis Ababa. The house belonged to a friend of mine who allowed me to live there for sometime. Three days a week, we met in this house to fast and pray about the fulfillment of the vision I had. Gradually other servants of the Lord were joining us and through them we also received confirmatory messages from the Lord regarding the fulfillment of the vision. The following are only some of these confirmatory messages:

  • 22nd September 1997
    "I have designed a new road for you, a road that is free from the evil doer and the son of wickedness. This is a gate that will never put you to shame, a gate through which I will gather and help multitudes. Throughout your life, I will speak to you and through you I will encourage my people and perform wonders and miracles that will amaze all nations"
  • 18th October 1997
    "Have faith in me and I shall exalt you over many. Your enemies shall be ashamed but you will be honored; they will war against you but will never have victory over you, for I will be there to save you. In all your future ministry I will make you grow higher and as you grow your enemies will start attacking you from all directions, openly and in hidden ways. They will initiate confusion and will create problems that never had my blessing. When all these come to pass, be sure that as I have promised, so will I be with you and do not budge from your place. I know that you have given yourself up to me and I will remove the spirit of Human from before you. Anything that is not from me shall never stand before you. All things that originate from me will not only come to you but will permeate your soul".
  • 31st May 1993
    While I was still at the Ukraine State University of Agriculture, the Lord said to me, "Opponents will rise against you, but I will disperse them because they cannot stand against my power which is in you".

While the fasting and prayer program of the trio continued, Vision International Gospel Fellowship started for the first time with nine participants on Saturday 18October 1997 from 2p.m. - 5 p.m.... At this first Fellowship and prayer meeting the Lord said," At this place I will change the lives of many, will return their blessings and I will kindle the fire of my Spirit and no one will be able to extinguish this fire. All those who come to this place will be filled by my Spirit. Be strong and pray without ceasing and I will perform miracles all by myself". The Lord then showed me the following vision: I saw several donkeys having identical colors; each donkey was carrying equal amounts of fire wood. The donkeys stood in a long single line. I watched these donkeys amazedly as they passed by in a line following an orderly manner, having the same color and carrying exactly the same amount of fire wood. While I was wondering where these donkeys were going, I realized that they were all heading for the place where we started Vision |Gospel Fellowship, and entering the house one by one. The Holy Spirit gave me the following interpretation for my vision. "Persons with gifts of the Spirit with full agreement with each other And having identical plans for the fulfillment of the vision will come to serve in this ministry one after another in an organized manner without any confusion or commotion" Vision Gospel Fellowship continued its program on Saturdays from 2pm - 5 pm. In accordance with the Lord's promise to raise the dead through my ministry, the purpose in life, the hopes and the aspirations of many people which had died, have regained their lives and revived. The Lord sealed His Word with wonders and miracles. Many signs started to accompany my ministry. Those who saw these signs, wonders and miracles witnessed to others. People started flocking to our ministry from the four corners of Addis Ababa. Others were coming from remote parts of the country. Many were delivered from the yolk of the devil. Curses were being broken from others. Many people stared seeing success in their lives, the sick were healed and people were amazed at the miracles performed by the Lord. In addition to the Saturday program, I was ministering all other days of the week to people who come to my house. My house was dedicated practically to Gospel ministry, and my main assignment became studying the Word of God at home, praying and ministering to people who came to my house on or without appointment

12. Gospel Ministry and Achievements Scored from 16th Feb 99 to 15th Feb 2000

During this period the ministry was being conducted in a newly rented house in the eastern part of Addis Ababa. Along side the regular program of the Gospel ministry, the preparation of the basic requirements for obtaining a legal license for Vision International Gospel ministry (VIGM) was being finalized. Servants of the Lord who have received and accepted vision from the Lord were also joining the fellowship.

VIGM was legally licensed by the government on 7June 1999. A Board of Governors consisting of five members was constituted. Pastor Dr Chali Gemachu, the Visionary, is Chairman of the Board. Various sub-committees were also formed and started to work on their respective assignments.

In addition to the programs which continued to be conducted on Saturdays ( 2 pm -5 pm) and Wednesdays (10 am- 12.30 am) new programs were also introduced for the Prayer Group on Tuesday and Friday mornings from 10 am - 2 pm. On Friday mornings, Pastor Dr Chali gives counseling services to people with different social, material and spiritual problems from 10 am -12 am. The counseling services, which are given to members of VIGM as well as to individuals who come from other churches, were initiated in accordance with instructions and guidance given by the Holy Spirit to Pastor Dr Chali.

Every Friday counseling services are given, on average, for about 16 -20 people and during the above one year period 874 individuals have benefited from the services. Impressive results have been recorded in this ministry, including solutions to problems of matrimony, deliverance from addiction to various habits and adultery. The unemployed were given advice not to discriminate between job opportunities. Persons whose gifts of the Spirit are waning were revived by the power of the Holy Spirit and those who lost their gifts have regained their Spiritual power and are now serving the Lord.

13. Pieces of Advices by pastor Chali Gemechu (in 1997)

"Let the wise listen and add to their understanding" Proverbs 1:5

  1. A changed life is a symptom of people's spiritual reverse in Christ. When people begin to submit themselves to God they experience a process of edification and sanctification. Through a gradual process, they begin to bear fruits of the Spirit. Let not the fate of non- Christians trouble you; only pray for them.
  2. Only God is capable of bringing man to a state of perfection. Man is an imperfect creature and certainly bound to err. When you detect sinful behavior in others, indicate to them their mistakes and help them mend their ways.
  3. Do not compare or contrast your experiences and the level of growth with those of others. The Lord has unique plans for each one of us. Persist in your faith and continue your journey to a higher stage of development.
  4. God alone is capable of accomplishing the work He started in men. When you see noticeable spiritual growth in others, praise the Lord for this, but watch out against any feeling s of jealousy.
  5. Help people in times of their weakness; encourage those filled with spiritual vigor.
  6. You do good studying the Word of God; but you do even better by living in the Word.
  7. Do not high esteem of yourself for you will stumble against conceit and fall; nor low esteem of yourself for you may have yourself.
  8. Our Lord is a glorious God. Man himself is God's splendid handiwork created for God's glory. Therefore, you have to treat fellow men and yourself with respect.
  9. May the words of your mouth overflow with knowledge and wisdom? Be enthusiastic to tell people about the Word of God; but be more enthusiastic to be a listener to God's Word.
  10. Say only what you have to say. Do not say anything that you will be ashamed of to repeat later.
  11. Love your friend as your own self, but do not expect all to love you as their own selves. If you love your friends as your own self, your God, who has enabled you to do that, is assuring you of His abiding love.
  12. Do not count on man, for he is mortal; do not count on money, for it is not lasting; do not count on knowledge, for it is transient, and do not count on your services for they are not yours. Only trust in God, for He is eternal.
  13. Serving the Lord starts with your own self, then with your family, with other individuals, with Christian fellowships and with the Church. Begin by serving your own self and your family with prayer and with the Word of God. Do not embark on other services before doing this. The family and other individuals are the corner stones of the Church.
  14. Do not forget the Lord after you are blessed with wealth; do not fret for love of wealth. It is only God who gives it or who takes it away. Trust in God He will provide for you abundantly.
  15. Guard yourself against such base human qualities as deceit, name calling, lies, profanity or gossip, for these are hindrances to spiritual growth.
  16. Visit the sick, console the grieved and help the needy for you will be rewarded with spiritual contentment.
  17. Be yourself, excel in whatever you do, for then you will be sought after.
  18. Love a person but don’t be afraid of him. If you love him, you will also respect him, but if you are afraid of him you will flatter him.
  19. If a man pushes you, you will fall in the hands of God, but if God pushes you, you will fall in the hands of man. Therefore, it is best for you to know who exactly you were pushed by.
  20. Do not be initiator of quarrels, for you may suddenly lose your life; do not be jealous of someone, for you may suddenly fall; neither should you harm anyone, for you may be suddenly crushed.
  21. Do not count the services you rendered to God, rather count your future services in His house, for the things God has done for you are uncountable.
  22. A person is not spiritual because he speaks the Word, but because he lives in accordance with the Word.

14. Gospel Ministry and Achievements Scored from 16 February 2000 to 5 September 2001

This period was the time during which Vision International Church was being strengthened and widened its scope of activities. It was also the time VIGM celebrated its first year anniversary and conducted various conferences, crusades etc.. The principal objective of VIGM is to win over those souls that are under the kingdom of the devil for the Lord; and make them His disciples. Accordingly, special emphasis and effort is made to reach areas that have not yet heard the Gospel News. The saved souls are edified and nurtured with the Word through conferences and crusades and are advised to be free from sins and to follow and serve the One who died on the Cross on their behalf. At the moment VIGM has established one central church in Addis Ababa and its activities during the time specified above are given as follows:

Regular Services

During the healing ministry, people have been healed from cancer, mental illnesses, the deaf could hear, the dumb could speak etc 1.3 - Bible teaching VIGM'S main objective is to teach the Gospel to its members and prepare them for discipleship.       During its sessions the Prayer Group brings before the Lord through fasting and prayer cases of lost souls, success for the ministry VIGM and all other Gospel ministries, about the world, about our country etc.

    Realizing the need for competent stewards for the success of the ministry, VIGM has been recruiting individuals with potential for dedicated services to the Lord.
  • Training of stewards
    VIGM has conducted a training program that lasted for 50 days given every day from 3 pm - 6 pm , with the view to speed up the fulfillment of its vision. The topics covered in this training program include:

    4. Obstacles to and enemies of visions

    6. Taking steps to make vision come true
    7. How to stick to one's vision
    8. Implementing vision through fellowship
  • The Counseling and Guidance program
    The Counseling and Guidance program was being conducted on Fridays from 10 am - 12 am by Pastor Dr Chali. During the period covered by this report about 900 people have benefited from the program. The Lord has performed wondrous acts through this ministry.
  • Holy Communion and Baptismal programs
    On the basis of the instructions given in Matthew 26:27-29 and Matthew 28:19, the Holy Communion and Water Baptism are conducted, respectively. Members are given Bible classes for six months before baptismal with water is effected.
  • Marriage ceremonies
    In accordance with Genesis 2: 18, VIGM gives the necessary spiritual advice and counseling to members who request to be married in our church.

  • Fellowship with other churches and ministries
    VIGM attaches great importance to fellowship among all children of God. Accordingly, our Pastors and Evangelists are regularly invited to minister in other evangelical churches and ministries. We have established strong interdenominational collaboration with other sister churches and we also invite individuals to preach in our churches.
  • Annual Conferences of VIGM
    The first anniversary of VIGM was conducted from 25 - 26 November 2000. Many people accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. The power of the Holy Spirit was mightily manifested during the two days of the conference.

    • Conferences: A conference was conducted at the town of ambo in collaboration with the Baptist Church , from 10 -11March 2001. Another Conference was held in Jire town from 15 - 17 March 2001, in collaboration with the Baptist Church of Jire town.
    • Crusades: VIGM conducted a Crusade in the town of Ambo from 29 - 31 March 2001 in collaboration with four evangelical churches in Ambo. These were the Full Gospel, Mekane Yesus, Messerete Kiristos and the Ambo Baptist churches. VIGM has also participated in Crusades conducted in other parts of the country, namely, in the towns of Mekelle, Awassa, Wendo Genet etc..
  • Teaching seminars
    A few days before each conference or Crusade, training seminars were given to representatives of the various churches in the proper conduct of witnessing for the Lord including one-to-one evangelism.
    Tracts, pamphlets and posters were prepared and widely distributed. Arrangements were made to make sure that they would reach remote rural areas, as well. We have also taken video films of the crusades and conferences as well as those of my previous ministries from the very beginning. I am hoping to send you all up on your request.

This year in the sight of God.
People will not find it difficult to know about things that have happened in the past because they have experienced them and have passed through them. It is amazing, however, that most of these people remember only the things that have indeed passed without thinking, even for a second, the One who was behind and responsible for all those things that have passed. Some even tend to believe that they have managed to survive the trials and tribulations of this world with their strength and cleverness.

However, one thing that you ought to know above everything else is that you have safely passed through these evil days because of the unfailing love and protection of the Holy God.

“The lord will keep you from all harm, He will watch over your life”
Ps 121:7

People are so much worried about what will happen to them and they desperately want to know their final destiny. That is why people resort to visiting fortune-tellers, magicians, sorcerers and spirits. Others regularly consult the horoscope pages of newspapers and magazines with the hope that these would indicate to them their destinies.

Such people have, regrettably, ignored the Lord of heaven and earth, the everlasting God, and have willingly entrusted their fate to the devil, (Ps 50:18) who will then be at liberty to bring all evil deeds and curses on them. If these people do not return to God fast, eternal death will be their end. The Almighty God, however, is the only shelter and redeemer of his people (Ps 73: 26-27), and he is the only one who can reveal to them their future.

Our Lord tells to us through this Word and Spirit. The Lord our God is good and whatever He tells us is nurturing our lives. Unless the Lord reveals secrets to His servants and prophets, there is nothing they can speak about.

”But always, first of all, I warn you through my prophets. This I now have done. The lion has roared, tremble in fear. The Lord God has sounded your doom; I dare not refuse to proclaim it”

Amos 3: 7-8

During the past years several Christians have suffered from the evil arrows of the devil and had to pass through fear and trials. This year, however, is the year when the Lord has totally incapacitated the devil and has put sanctions against all his evil plans and practices

“As for the work this man of rebellion and hell will do when he comes, it is already going on, but he himself will not come until the one who is holding him back steps out of the way”
2 Thessalonians 2:7.

This is a year when the Lord lifts the yolk off the shoulders and brings to rest the spirits, souls and bodies of those people who have vowed to serve their Lord in humility and in truth (Mathew 11: 28) It is a year when the Lord has put an end to the devil’s interference in the affairs of His people.

“On that day, God will end the bondage of his people. He will break the slave-yolk off their necks and destroy it as decreed”
Isaiah 10: 27.

When we say that the devil’s interference with the affairs of God’s people is put to an end, we don’t mean to say that the people of God should not present themselves before their Lord in prayer and fasting. Neither do we mean to say that we should not carry out our share of responsibilities in receiving our divine promises by resisting the devil (Ps 37:7). What we mean is that with full understanding of the sanctions imposed against the devil by the Lord, we should destroy all the works of the devil with the power invested upon us by the Lord, by taking advantage of the opportunity granted to us by the Lord, to bring about all spiritual and material changes expected of us.

“With God’s help we shall do mighty things, for He will trample down our foes” Ps 60:12

What the year holds for the children of God.

  1. It is a year of rest from their troubles.
    “Why was I born? For my life has been but trouble and sorrow and shame” Jeremiah 20: 18.

    This year has become a year of rest for those who, during the past years, have experienced fear and trials and have been asking themselves the purpose of their lives, and why they serve the lord. The fears, troubles and sufferings which have swallowed them during the past years, will themselves be swallowed up during this year, their captors will be captured, and those who had health problems, will enjoy their full health during this year. God’s people will be free from all feelings of inferiority, shame and dishonor and from all kinds of wounds in their lives and they shall have rest in the Lord.

    “But in that coming day, all who are destroying you shall be destroyed, and all your enemies shall be slaves, those who rob you shall be robbed; and those attacking you shall be attacked” Jeremiah 30: 16

  2. It is a year of victory. This is a year when the Lord shall crown all things executed in his name with victory. It is a year when you will go from victory to victory in your spiritual, economic and social lives. The victory belongs to our lord (Prov. 28: 12)
  3. It is a year when there will be a special pouring of the Holy Spirit. During the past years the devil has been trying his level best to weaken the spiritual and material life of the Christian. During the coming years, however, he has changed his strategy and has pooled all his resources together to directly confront the church. The church is the body and fullness of Jesus Christ. (Ephes 1: 23). The beauty of the church is Jesus Christ Himself. The church is the source and spring of the knowledge and wisdom of God. The enemy of the church is therefore one and one only, and that is the devil.

    Although the devil has designed various strategies for its battles against the church, Almighty God, has declared this year to be a time when his Spirit (power) will pour down abundantly. This is a year when the power and anointing of the Lord will be mightily manifested. The scope and intensity of this manifestation will be miraculous and will change the lives of many and as a result of this anointing the weak will be full of strength. During this year the church will receive a higher and more powerful authority to preach the word. Wondrous and miraculous deeds shall be performed by the work and Spirit of the Lord. The church will exert unbearable pressure on satanic institutions with power and authority, as a result of which Satan, the king of this world, will be confounded. Because of the glory of the Lord, which will be revealed, messengers of evil spirits will not dare to enter the house of the Lord, and even if they enter, they will not be able to stand. “Lord, I have heard of your fame. I stand in awe of your deeds. O Lord, renew them in our day.” Neh 3: 2 The glory of the Lord will overwhelm the earth, the fame of the church shall be heard, and she will achieve her duties and continue to move forward in accordance with the promises made to her. “If anyone does attack you it will not be my doing; whoever attacks you will surrender to you. No weapon forged against you will prevail, and you will refute every tongue that accuses you.” Isaiah 54: 15, 17

  4. It is a year when the spiritual eyes of many shall be opened

    “How can a young man keep his way pure? By living according to your Word” Ps 119:9

    By “way” we do not mean streets built by man to provide access to each other in the neighborhood or to connect one town or one country to another. What are meant by “way” are the thoughts and attitudes that were created and grown in the minds of people. The ways of some people are crooked and although there are many reasons for that, the following are the most common ones

    Influences of the family, church, neighborhood and other similar experiences that are contrary to the Word of God gained by individuals. When our ways are crooked, our lives, our families and our services will all be crooked.

    “To the faithful you show yourself faithful, to the blameless you show yourself blameless, to the pure you show yourself pure but to the crooked you show yourself shrewd” 2 Sam 22: 26-27

    This way to destruction can only be straightened by God, and this He does, not by forcing people, but by opening their spiritual eyes by his Word and Spirit and by helping them to see that the road they are following is crooked.

    Unless our spiritual eyes are opened it will be difficult for us to differentiate between the precious and the useless because the evil things would seem to be good to us.

    “There is a way that seems right to a man, but in the end it leads to death.” Prov 14: 12

    God had used different sermons and teachings to remove the crookedness of the hearts of men, but when we look at the lives of some Christians, apart from few external changes such as hypocrisy, and the shouting of “Hallelujah!” and “Amen!”, individually or in groups, there is no any demonstrable and genuine change in their spiritual lives. But God desires that we should worship and
    glorify Him in truth and in the Spirit, and to serve and obey Him with clean hearts (Ps 101: 6)

    and also to fear and glorify Him. If we approach God with our crooked hearts it will all be in vain; for the Bible says:

    “Blessed are the pure in heart for they will be called sons of God "matt 5:8

    During this year, the Lord will individually meet every person through the light of his Word and the power of his Spirit. The bond between the Lord and individual persons will be stronger.

    “My lover is mine and I am his, he browses among the lilies” songs of Sol. 2: 16

    Because the crooked ways of every individual will melt under the power of his Spirit and by the truth of his Word the spiritual and social relationships among Christians will be smooth. People will directly receive the current Word (the appropriate divine revelation) from the Giver and will therefore speak to all people the current and relevant Word wherever they go, wherever they sit or work. The people who listen to them will be amazed and glorify the Giver (God) and not the human speakers (media)

    “One thing God has spoken, two things have I heard : that You, O God, are strong” Ps 62: 11

    Everyone will individually receive vision (serving the Lord, running a business, education etc) from the Lord. Because of the light of his Word and the power of His anointment, crooked things will be straightened, closed doors will be opened; all good beginnings will be successfully completed; all prophetic promises of the Lord will be fulfilled during this year.

    “I will make an everlasting covenant with them. I will never stop doing good to them and I will inspire them to fear me so that they will never turn away from me” Jeremial 32: 42

  5. This year will be a fruitful year for many

    “If anyone does not remain in me, he is like a branch that is thrown away and withers. Such branches are picked up, thrown into the fire and burned” John 15: 6

    During this year, many will be fruitful in their spiritual works, for the Lord will renew the lives of so many by his Spirit. It will be a year when job opportunities will be opened for many and all their works will bear fruits. All their efforts will be successfully completed and shall never be aborted. It is a year when failures of last year will be crowned with success.

    For those who believe, success is guaranteed and therefore stick to the message in faith for the unbelief of man cannot change the faithfulness of God.

    “What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God’s faithfulness?” Rom 3: 3

    “The God of heaven will give us success. We his servants will start rebuilding” Nehemiah 2:20

Conferences, Crusades and training programs conducted by Vision International Gospel Ministry (VIGM)

On 13 January 1993 , the Lord spoke to me thus:

"I will give you a team of evangelists and you will preach the good news."

Accordingly, VIGM has organized and conducted conferences and crusades in different parts of the Ethiopia to spread the Gospel. The conferences and crusades were organized:

  • In collaboration with member churches of various unions of churches or with other Gospel ministries
  • Where churches organize their own conferences and crusades and invite VIGM to participate in the programs and, By VIGM itself.

When some Gospel ministries organize conferences in certain parts of the country in collaboration with local churches, the latter they usually ask such questions as:

  • “Do they also plant churches?” or
  • “Would they take away members of our churches?”

and similar other questions and worries are often encountered. Unless the Holy Spirit reveals to them genuine Gospel ministries these churches are bound to entertain similar anxieties. Nonetheless, the aims and goals of VIGM are the following:-

  • To bring the Gospel News to areas that have never had the opportunity
  • To plant churches where there are none.

To organize and conduct conferences and crusades where there are churches already with the view to bring about spiritual revival and to encourage the community to serve their Lord Jesus Christ and to nurture them spiritually to help them grow in the knowledge of the Lord. These newly planted churches are eventually handed over to near by churches. VIGM is engaged in planting churches only when given specific guidance by the Holy Spirit.

“We should make plans counting on God to direct us” Prov. 16:9

Conferences and crusades conducted by VIGM during 2001/2003

Conferences

10 and 11 April 2001
A two-day conference was conducted in Ambo town in collaboration with the Ambo Baptist Church. The conference was held in the assembly hall of the church. VIGM played a significant role in these conference, which was attended by members of the Ambo Baptist Church as well as by members of other churches in Ambo town.

During the conference, the Good News was preached; miracles and wonders were performed by the Holy Spirit; many more were healed from their sicknesses and a mighty Spirit of worship was manifested. Several people were filled with the Holy Spirit and spoke in tongues. This conference opened the door for the crusade planned to be held soon in Ambo town.

16-18 March 2001
A spiritual conference was conducted in Ejere town, west Shoa, in collaboration with the Baptist church. The glory of the Lord revealed in Ambo was repeated in Ejere. During the conference many individuals were delivered from devil possession and accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.

Crusades

31 March & 1 April 2001
A two-day crusade was conducted in collaboration with the Ambo Union of Churches (Ethiopian Full Gospel, the Ethiopian Evangelical Church Mekane Yesus (EECMY), Baptist church). The crusade was held in Ambo Stadium. The following arrangements had been made before the crusade:

  • A meeting of church leaders and elders was called to explain to the objective of the crusade and to exchange views on it and to pray for its successful completion. This has greatly helped to bring closer together churches that have not had the necessary relationships among themselves and had opened for them to meet regularly, to exchange views on issues of common concern as well as to pray together thus strengthening their union even more. Various committees were formed and have contributed tremendously towards the success of the crusade.
  • Prayer chain programs consisting of the prayer groups and choir members of the various churches were established to pray collectively and also separately in their respective churches in turn. The choirs of the various churches were also encouraged to organize programs jointly. This has helped the prayer teams and the choirs to develop close collaboration and unity among themselves.
  • A week before the crusade started, a training program was conducted for all servants of the Lord in the various churches to witness to people individually to Jesus Christ and to accept Him as their personal Savior. The usual program was to witness to people individually in the mornings and to attend the training programs in the afternoons. The training program contributed significantly to strengthen unity among the participants as well as to arouse them to work for the Lord with more vigor.
  • Information on the details of the crusade was disseminated to churches in Ambo town, to the surrounding towns, villages and peasants’ associations through posters, which had been distributed earlier.

The crusade was then conducted from 31 March to 1 April 2001 and an estimated 15,000 people attended. On 31 March, the Vice-Chairman of the Ambo Union of churches, Assistant Professor Alemayehu, made the welcome address and Pastor Dr. Chali Gemechu, Visionary and Director of VIGM, was invited to formally open the crusade. Pastor Chali, after explaining that the crusade was the fulfillment of the voice of the Lord spoken to him eight years earlier and assuring the crowd that the mighty hand of God will perform wondrous acts during the crusade, formally declared the crusade open. On the first day of the crusade, the Good News of the Gospel was preached, many accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, and several sick persons were healed by the Lord.

The second day of the Crusade on 1 April, was slightly different from the first day, and was characterized by a down pour of a mighty spirit of worship and healing. After the word of God was preached, the healing hands of the Lord were manifested; several sick people were healed, and witnessed in front of those assembled, and many more were delivered from devil possession. In short, the people were comforted by the Holy Spirit and joyfully worshipped the Lord. People gave their testimonies that such a mighty pouring of the Sprit of worship was the first of its kind in the town of Ambo. At about 6.30 p.m the crowd flooded the stadium and started to worship the Lord heartily and the healing power of the Lord was demonstrated in a more wondrous way. At 6.45 p.m, Ato Belachew Insermu, member of Ambo Mekane Yesus church and leader of the Ambo Union of churches, presented Pastor Chali with the gift prepared for VIGM by the Union. Similarly, Pastor Chali presented the gift prepared by VIGM to the Union. The leader of the Union then made the closing speech in which he stated that:

“Vision International Gospel Ministry is a young ministry which will lead many people in the country to the kingdom of God and I would like to remind you and appeal to you all to stand by this ministry with your resources including your prayers and money”

The leader also stressed the contribution of VIGM to strengthening the unity and cooperation among the members of the Ambo Union of churches.

Ato Alemayehu, who was a chemistry teacher at Ambo Agricultural college, Chairman of the elders of the Ambo Full Gospel Church and Vice: Chairman of the Ambo Union of churches, added that the Lord has released his glory and poured His Spirit of worship upon his people through the ministry of VIGM. He further testified that the people have learnt a lot about worshiping the Lord in unison. Several people have accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior; many received divine healings-the deaf were able to hear, the blind to see and that VIGM was indeed a ministry brought about by the Lord at His own time. He reminded the crowd to pray to the Lord to pour down his blessings bountifully upon VIGM.

Although the time scheduled for the closing of the crusade was over, the people organized themselves into groups and were marching through the streets singing joyfully. They then went to the Ambo EECMY and stayed there until 10.00 pm while the miracle healings continued to the very end.

The Lord renewed the power of worship of its people, performed miracles, humiliated the devil and was glorified mightily.

“In all these things we have complete victory through Him who loved us” Rom 8:37

Conferences and crusades conducted during the year 2001/2002.

  1. Conferences
    18 January 2002:
    VIGM conducted a spiritual revival conference in the town of Assosa, Western Ethiopia, in collaboration with Hiwot Birhan church. Similarly, two spiritual revival conferences were also conducted in Addis Ababa on 1 May and 28 May 2002. The word of God was preached and prayers were made for the sick and for those who had spiritual and/or material problems.
  2. Cursades
    VIGM, in collaboration with EECMY, conducted the following evangelization crusades:
    • 9 and 10 February 2002 , at a place called Bengua, Menesibu District. An estimated 5,000 people were present at the crusade
    • 11 to 14 February 2002, in collaboration with EECMY and the Ethiopian Full Gospel Church , at a place called Kiltu Karra. The attendance of the crusade was estimated to be 30,000.

    • 15-17 February 2002, VIGM, in collaboration with the Ethiopian Full Gospel, conducted an evangelization crusade in Bambesi town, Beneshangul-Gumuz region. Bambessi is located at about 650 km west of Addis Ababa. About 6,000 people attended the crusade. About 98% of the populations in the area are followers of the Islamic faith and this was the first evangelistic crusade ever to be conducted in the area. The Gospel News was preached at length. Several people accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. The newly saved souls were entrusted to the good care of the churches in the area to teach them, encourage them and strengthen them in there spiritual lives. During the crusade many have been delivered from the devil’s possession as well as from other diseases. The crusades have been highly instrumental in strengthening the unity and relationships among the churches.

Conferences

  • 25-27 March2003: A three day conference was conducted by VIGM in Shashmane town of Oromya region (around270kms from AddisAbeba) in collaboration with Ethiopian word of life church. The conference was held in the church. During the conference, the Good news was preached; miracles and wonders were performed by the Holy Spirit many people were healed from their sicknesses and a mighty Spirit of worship was manifested; Many Muslims and other non –believers have accepted Jesus as their own savior and several more have been delivered from devil’s operations.

  • 27-30Augest2004: A three day conference was conducted by VIGM in Deredwa town of Somale region (around 526 kilometers east of AddisAbeba ) in collaboration with the Deredwa Union of Churches(Kalahiwot church,FullGospel,EECMY,Meserata Kirestos Churches).Many people living in the town and around the town were attended the conference.

    During the conference the word of God was preached and prayers were made for the sick; Miracles and wonders were performed by the Holy Spirit; Many people were healed from their sicknesses, Many people were accepted Jesus Christ as their own savior

Crusades

  • 2.1 7-9 May 2004: A three day Crusade was conducted by VIGM in Arsi Negele town (around250km south of Addis Abeba)in collaboration with the ArsiNegeleUnionofChurches(FullGospel, kalehiwot, Meseratkiristos,HiwotBrhan,AmanuelMenfasawMahber,Wongel ealem,EECMY Churches).

    It is estimated that about 95%of the population in the area are followers of Islamic faith and orthodox Churches. Preaching of the Gospel of Jesus Christ was started in 1963 in some villages of the area and in Arsi Negele town it has been started in 1972.With in 30 years there was no any Crusade conducted in the area and VIGM crusade was the first evangelistic Crusade ever to be conducted in the area.
    During the Crusade the Gospel of Jesus Christ was preached at length; many people accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their own savior; many have been delivered from the devil’s possession; many have been healed from different diseases.
    According to our Reporter’s specific data, about 33,284 people wereattended the Crusade and among these people;

    • 575 were accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their own savior.
    • 382 were delivered from devil’s possession.
    • 192 were healed from different diseases.

    In short, this Crusade was characterized by a down pour of a mighty Spirit of worship and healing.The people were comforted by the Holy Spirit and joyfully worshipped the Lord.

Church Planting.

One of the major objectives, plans and duties of VIGM is establishing branch Churches throughout Ethiopia and abroad for expanding the work of the Gospel ministry.

Accordingly, at the moment we have one Vision International Church (VIC) in the capital city Addis Ababa, and we have also planted forty additional Churches in various parts of the country

Major objectives, plans and duties of VIGM

  • Worshipping God, studying and teaching the Bible.
  • Proclaiming the Gospel to all mankind.
  • Training God’s servants for Gospel Ministry.
  • Preaching the Gospel in crusades, conferences and various meetings.
  • Facilitating conditions for transmitting Gospel messages to the people on a wide scale through the media including radio, TV, video services and other means.
  • Undertaking God’s works by creating a working relationship with various other Gospel Ministries as well as local and international organizations promoting the same Christian faith.
  • Establishing Bible schools and libraries.
  • Establishing branch offices throughout Ethiopia and abroad for expanding the work of the Gospel Ministry.
  • Provide relief and rehabilitation services, within available resources, for orphans, destitute children and other people afflicted by natural and man-made disasters.
  • Undertaking related services that promote the aims and objectives of the Gospel Ministry which do not contravene the creed of the Gospel faith.

Miraculous Manifestations performed by the Mighty power of the Lord Jesus Christ in the hands of Pastor Doctor Chali Gemechu, founder and senior pastor of the Vision International Gospel Ministry Congregation

These are witnesses given by the believers and are only some of the many healing power manifestations recorded in the video films.

God is manifesting and performing a number of miracles in the hands of his servant, Pastor Dr. Chali Gemechu. Some among them are that multitudes were set free from the devilish and demonic possessions and witnessed for the saving power of Christ. In the ministry of this anointed man of God dead people were raised, sick people were healed, barren women have given birth to a child, and mad people were set free.

Besides these, people with economic social and spiritual problems have got healing by the authority of Our Lord Jesus Christ while this man was praying.

  1. Mr. Ayensa: He is maimed and government employee. His two years old child was seriously sick and taken to health station. The health workers of the health center told him that it is impossible to treat the child and you should take home. While they were taking home, the child passed away. Being highly terrified of the child’s death, they went to a house they know the owner. Then mourning started and crowds of people were crying and shouting. While the crowds were highly weeping with the parents of the child, Pastor Dr. Chali went there passing by. He put his hands up on the dead child and rebuked the spirit of death in the name of Jesus, then the child miraculously rose up and still she is living. A miraculous thing of the situation is that the parents of the child Mr. Ayenasa and his wife got this child through the prophetic word that came via the pastor. The wife was previously barren. This resembles with the history of the barren woman in the book of kings.

  2. A woman’s 1year old child passed away on the eve of Wednesday at 4:00 am from the dusk, she was then ready for burial. On Wednesday morning the mother of the child said “I don’t bury her,” and she brought the dead child to the pastor’s prayer meeting. She brought her child that there are miraculous manifestations there. The pastor started meditating and praying for the child laying his hands on the child. Then she rose up immediately. The child is still living.

  3. His name is Mr. Mulugeta. He is a lawyer. He didn’t accept Christ as his personal savior. He was HIV/AIDS victim. One day while he was getting medication in the hospital, he became in a deep comma. His family was mourning for the final departure of Mr. Mulugeta weeping and crying. The family then called Dr. Chali, senior pastor of the Vision International Gospel Ministry Church (VIGMC) to the hospital. Having taken instruction from the Holy Spirit the pastor laid his hand up on Mr. Mulugeta. Immediately the man rose up and started to take liquid foods. He was for a long time getting food via injection or commonly called through glucose.

    He then took Christ as his personal savior. The next day he started to witness what the Lord has made in his life. This time he is peaceful, healthy performing his private work and also attending his education at Addis Ababa University (AAU).

  4. Mr. Mitiku Ayalew. He is a teacher suffering from brain tumor. He was almost on the verge of death. He came to Addis Ababa for medication but healed from the disease by the Mighty power of God while the pastor was praying for him. He is now totally free form the disease and is doing his teaching profession.
  5. Mr. Amanueel Geleta. He is a medical personnel and professional. He was suffering from heart failure and lung complication. He became hopeless but healed totally from the disease while the pastor was praying and is leading his peaceful life at this time.
  6. Mr. Mesfin. He is an employee in an international NGO. He was suffering from sexual problem. He had wound on his sexual organ and unable to have sexual relationship with his wife soon after his marriage. He was set free from the problem as soon as the pastor prayed for him and witnessed by phone when he went home. The next time he came to the congregation and gave witnesses accompanied by photographs.
  7. A woman in her 30s.She was around cemetery for about 10 years She was set free from the bondage by the prayer of the pastor. She is now leading her peaceful life.
  8. They are Tsehayi and Tekalign. They are legally married husband and wife. As they are government employees, they have lived separately for 12 years because Tekalign works in Addis Ababa and his wife Tsehayi works in Bale zone which is about 500 kms away. Teshayi came to Addis Ababa in the beginning of 2005 and requested pastor Chali to pray for her.
    The pastor prayed for her and prophesied that she will be transferred from that place (Bale zone) at the end of 2005. According to the prophetic word Tsehayi got transfer and she is now leading her life with her husband Tekalign in Addis Ababa.

  9. A man in his 50’s, an MA holder and government employee. He was trying to get married but unsuccessful because the women whom he requested were rejecting his marriage questions and this because he was under demonic attack. He came to where Pastor Chali ministers. The pastor prayed for him and he was liberated from the bondage in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is now married and gave birth to a child.
  10. Her name is Askale. She was under extreme poverty. While she was praying in the congregation where pastor Chali serves, the Holy spirit witnessed to pastor Chali that God is to break that spirit. The pastor called her to the front and prayed for her. She was set free from the bondage and a gate was opened (job opportunity) for her and she is now in top financial capacity.
  11. Her name is Birnesh. After the death of her husband, for four consecutive years she fell into serious problem. This was because she had no job. She was told to come to pastor Chali’s prayer meeting. The pastor rebuked the spirit of poverty and unsuccessfulness. She was then set free and got employment in the palace in the President’s office. She was successful, competing with seven hundred (700) job searchers for a single position. Jesus made miracle and she is now leading a peace full life.

Jesus will do much more in his anointed servant in the future. For all the past deeds and those which will take place in the future the Glory is not to any body but to the Almighty father, the son and the Holy Spirit! Amen!
